Brief概要

ONE LIGHT SOURCE, THREE PHYSICAL PATTERNS

How can one industrial lamp create several spatial identities without replacing its light source?

One color-adjustable bulb remains at the center while three removable pattern assemblies change the lamp’s silhouette and color behavior. Each pattern is built from differently shaped and colored acrylic slices; the third translates the fluidity of moving water into a layered form. The whole lamp is designed to come apart, with locating and assembly features preserved in the 3D model.

Color Interaction Study色彩观察

A SEPARATE EXPERIMENT BECAME THE COLOR STRATEGY

The same colored acrylic can appear different when the illumination color changes.

FIG 02 and FIG 03 come from another project, not from this lamp. They document the observation that a colored acrylic sheet has no single fixed appearance under colored light. That finding led to the lamp’s central play: combine inherently colored acrylic with a color-adjustable bulb.

SHAPE AND MATERIAL COLOR CHANGE; THE BULB DOES NOT

Three removable acrylic assemblies give the same lamp three distinct pattern languages.

Each set combines its own slice geometry with a different palette of colored acrylic. Pattern 03 develops a fluid profile that references moving water, while the shared rods and frame register every assembly around the same bulb.

ONE BULB ACTIVATES MULTIPLE MATERIAL READINGS

Changing the light color shifts how the acrylic layers mix, overlap, and read in space.

The open state exposes the interchangeable construction and the unobstructed light path. Once assembled, the acrylic slices carry material color while the adjustable bulb adds a second color variable, producing new gradients and depth cues without replacing the light source.

THE INDUSTRIAL FRAME IS ALSO THE ASSEMBLY SYSTEM

Disassembly was modeled into the object from the beginning.

The rods, base, enclosure, acrylic slices, and retention features can be separated and rebuilt. Integrating those joins during modeling makes pattern replacement possible while giving the finished lamp its deliberate industrial character.
