Wooden Xylophone
Laminated wood and acoustic testing become a tuned, playable tabletop sculpture.

Brief概要
How can material thickness and unsupported length become a visible musical system?
The hand-built percussion toy studies how lamination thickness and the suspended overhang of each bar affect tone. The resulting set spans approximately C to A and includes an ergonomic mallet plus an integrated tray that keeps every component together for casual tabletop play.
Tuned Geometry调音几何
The changing curve makes the acoustic variable legible before the instrument is played.
Bar thickness and overhang were adjusted together to differentiate pitch. Rather than hiding those differences in a conventional grid, the final composition overlaps the bars into one flowing field.

Crafted as One Set一体化制作

The stand is not packaging around the instrument; it completes the playing ritual.
Extensive manual and machine woodworking resolved the laminated bars, rounded tray, registration pegs, and shaped mallet as a coherent family. When play ends, every loose component returns to a visible position.
Resolved Object最终成品
The finished instrument reads as a wooden sculpture at rest and becomes animated through touch.
Natural grain, repeated curves, and a consistent edge treatment unify pieces whose dimensions were driven by different acoustic roles.
