Brief概要

MOTION AS AMBIENT MATERIAL

How can a mechanical cycle feel quiet rather than technical?

The lamp uses a low-speed motor and tuned circuit to sustain a continuous rotation that produces ocean-like light movement. It was designed for desks and shelves where subtle kinetic light can support rest without becoming a visual distraction.

THE EFFECT ONLY EXISTS IN TIME

A looped demonstration makes the wave pattern legible in a single glance.

The mechanism converts constant motor rotation into a repeating change in silhouette and light. Keeping the cycle slow was the key decision: speed is treated as part of the atmosphere, not just an engineering variable.

LIGHT, MOTION, AND SUPPORT ALIGN

The exposed build records how a digital form became a functioning kinetic object.

Sketching and 3D modeling established the movement; printed parts, motor wiring, and iterative assembly resolved alignment and clearance. The final mechanism keeps the moving layer centered while the outer structure frames the effect.

A MECHANISM THAT READS AS LIGHTING

The final object keeps its technical parts visually subordinate to the moving glow.

Repeated curved layers soften the machine language and give the lamp a continuous visual rhythm even when viewed as a still object.
